Request path

From visitor
to website.

  1. Visitor

The browser looks up your domain using DNS.

  2. FortEdge

FortEdge nameservers direct protected web traffic to the edge. The edge applies your domain’s rules.

  3. Your origin

Allowed traffic is forwarded to your existing web server.

DNS delegation

One authoritative DNS provider.

Use the complete set of FortEdge nameservers shown for your domain at your registrar. Do not mix those nameservers with another DNS provider’s nameservers.

Check your existing records before changing delegation. Email and other services depend on records beyond the website’s address.
